Welcome to Troop 143, proudly organized under the Frontier Trails District within the Longhorn Council. Chartered by VFW Post 1922, our troop embodies the principles of Scouting America, fostering innovation, inclusivity, and a strong community spirit. We believe that scouting is for everyone, and our programs are designed to empower both boys and girls to develop essential life skills through engaging, hands-on experiences.
In our small, but growing troop, we encourage our scouts to appreciate and contribute to their communities. Our commitment to growth—both personal and collective—ensures that every scout, regardless of their background, feels welcome and valued. Join us in our adventure as we learn, serve, and thrive together, upholding the values of Scouting America and preparing our youth for a bright future.
Join Troop 143 and help shape the future leaders of tomorrow! Whether you’re a youth interested in joining or an adult wanting to support our mission, there's a place for you in our troop.
Troop 143 is a combination of two sub troops, Troop 143B (boys) and Troop 143G (girls). Though we function as one troop in most cases, the distinction is important.
Troop 143B is still in development. We plan to be chartered and officially running by the end of this school year (May 2025). Until then, our boys are considered "Lone Scouts" with the 143G Scoutmaster as their advisor.
Troop 143G has been chartered since 2024 by VFW Post 1922.
Troop 143 is expertly led by our dedicated adult volunteers. Among them are individuals who were Scouts during their youth, as well as parents of our current Scouts. Additionally, we are fortunate to have members of our community who have chosen to contribute their time and expertise to foster the development of our Scouts into the leaders of tomorrow.
Sandra Anderson is the Troop 143G Scoutmaster. She has a total of 15 years experience in scouting. She has been a Girl Scout, Explorer Scout, Assistant Den Leader, Den Leader, Cub Committee Member, and Scoutmaster.
Elizabeth Worthy serves as Troop 143G's Assistant Scoutmaster (and will be the Scoutmaster of 143B). Although she is new to Scouting, she possesses a strong enthusiasm for facilitating the development of our Scouts into the leaders of tomorrow.
Christina Wallace is our Troop Committee Chair. In her youth, she reached the rank of Life before turning 18. She now leads our Troop's Committee and manages our Troop Operations. Her knowledge and dedication are invaluable assets to our organization.
Our Troop Committee Members are Cassandra Hodges, Charles Anderson, Shirley Kaylor and Sarah Krause.
Our Troops are chartered by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1922 in Gainesville, Texas. Our two current representatives are Robert Rouse and Katherine Hacker.
